Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection is associated with deterioration of motor function in Parkinson's disease (PD)
infection
The HP urea breath test and seropositive PD patients were randomized (1:1) into groups: they received standard eradication triple therapy or placebo for 1 week
As a result, a total of 310 patients were screened as qualified, 80 were randomized, and 67 of them were included in the comprehensive analysis group (32 patients in the treatment group, 35 patients in the placebo group)
In summary, eradication of HP does not improve the clinical outcome of PD, indicating that there is no reason for routine HP screening or eradication with the goal of improving PD symptoms
