    On August 29th, a demonstration plant for the utilization of phosphogypsum resources with an annual output of 250,000 tons was officially completed and put into operation in the Yuanan Jiangbei Chemical Park in Yichang, Hubei.


    It is understood that the project is provided by Chengdu Qianlijin Technology Innovation Co.


    According to Gong Jiazhu, the inventor of the process technology of the project, the vice chairman of the inorganic acid and alkali salt professional committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, and the leader of the phosphate expert group, the device adopts the third-generation gypsum acid-making patent technology with independent intellectual property rights.


    Gong Jiazhu pointed out that phosphogypsum is the largest by-product of high-concentration phosphate fertilizer and wet-process phosphorus chemical production.


    According to Zheng Xudong, Chairman of the Western Chemical Industry of Liushugou Mining Group, Liushugou Mining has three phosphate mines with a designed annual output of 2.


    Gong Jiazhu said that although there are many ways to use phosphogypsum, such as directly used in building materials, making gypsum board, gypsum block, gypsum putty, etc.


    Gong Jiazhu said that the implementation of the phosphogypsum sulfur resource recycling technology innovation demonstration device not only solves the environmental protection problem of phosphogypsum stacking that the existing phosphorus chemical industry has to produce, but also utilizes the sulfur and calcium resources in the phosphogypsum as resources.


    Zheng Xudong said that the Liushugou Mining Demonstration Plant uses waste phosphogypsum and relatively cheap coal or high-sulfur coal as raw materials to reduce and decompose phosphogypsum to realize the recycling and reuse of sulfur resources, which is in line with the national industrial policy and closely follows the national emerging industry.
