    On March 21, the 100-ton high-strength and high-modulus polyimide (PI) fiber preparation technology and application project passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation in Beijing
    .


    The appraisal expert group composed of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Cao Xianghong, Chen Xiangbao, Jian Xigao, and Yang Wantai, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, believes that the project has developed a complete set of industrialized preparation technology and key equipment for high-strength and high-modulus polyimide fibers, and formed a series of products and project results.


    The overall technology of the project results is at the international leading level


    The project has been applied or verified in a number of high-end equipment manufacturing fields


    According to Niu Hongqing, a member of the project team and an associate professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Wu Dezhen's scientific research team has been conducting research on polyimide fiber preparation technology since 2007, and in 2011, the ton-scale pilot process route was opened
    .


    Since then, after 10-ton engineering and 100-ton industrialization complete sets of technology and equipment research process, the project team built the world's first 100-ton high-strength and high-modulus polyimide fiber production line in 2018, realizing the industry of tensile strength 3.


    The appraisal opinion also showed that the project clarified the chemical structure and condensed structure characteristics required for high-strength and high-modulus polyimide fibers, and achieved a breakthrough in the principle of high-strength molecular structure design; invented the integrated continuous spinning of high-strength and high-modulus polyimide fibers technology, realizes the continuous preparation of fibers

    In addition, the project also independently designed and built the first high-strength and high-modulus polyimide fiber production line with an annual output of 100 tons at home and abroad, realizing the stable production of high-strength and high-modulus polyimide fibers in batches
