Myanmar launches 1 GW solar project tender program

Myanmar's Ministry of Electricity and Energy recently issued a bidding invitation letter to photovoltaic developers, aiming to build a number of solar power plants in the country, with a total scale of 1 GW

According to the announcement, 30 solar power plants with an installed capacity of 30-40 MW will be tendered this time, and all independent power generators who win the bid will receive 20-year power purchase agreements

Interested developers have until June 18 to submit their bids

According to the latest statistics from the International Renewable Energy Agency, by the end of 2019, Myanmar's cumulative installed photovoltaic capacity reached 88 MW, including a 50 MW solar power plant
completed in July last year.
