It is reported that the Northwest Yunnan UHVDC Project is one of the 12 key transmission channels of the State Council to accelerate the promotion of air pollution prevention and control action plan, shouldering the dual mission
of implementing the national "air pollution prevention and control" and "stable growth".
The project runs from Yunnan in the west to Guangdong in the east, with a total length of 1,950 kilometers, and the project is scheduled to have power transmission capacity
by the end of this year.
Northwest Yunnan UHVDC engineering system research, design and equipment selection is unprecedented, the high seismic intensity and high altitude of the Xinsong station are the two key technical problems of engineering construction, there is currently no UHVDC equipment in the world to resist 9 earthquakes, 2400 meters altitude is also the highest altitude of the current ±800 kV UHVDC converter station
