Recently, based on the personal records of 1,178 potential SARS-CoV-2 infections and 15,648 contacts in Hunan, China, researchers have estimated key COVID-19 transmission parameters.

The population's susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 increases with age, and there is no significant difference in the transmission between different age groups and between symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals.

Contacts in the family and exposure to first-generation cases are associated with a higher probability of transmission .
