National Energy Administration: 160GW of new wind and solar installed capacity in 2023, an increase of more than 33%

On December 30, the 2023 National Energy Work Conference was held
in Beijing.
The meeting summarized the key work results in 2022 and deployed the key tasks
for 2023.

At the meeting, Zhang Jianhua, secretary of the party group and director of the National Energy Administration, disclosed six key tasks for next year's energy work, including making every effort to improve the ability to guarantee energy production and supply, adjusting and optimizing the energy structure, accelerating scientific and technological self-reliance, deepening reforms in key areas, strengthening energy supervision and strengthening international energy cooperation

At the same time, the National Energy Administration has set targets that by 2023, the installed scale of wind power will reach about 430 million kilowatts and the installed scale of solar power generation will reach about
490 million kilowatts.
The cumulative installed capacity of the two reached 920 million kilowatts, of which the new installed capacity will reach 160 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of more than 33%.

Under the task of "adjusting and optimizing the energy structure", the National Energy Administration requires strengthening the construction of wind power and solar power generation, coordinating hydropower development and ecological protection, actively developing nuclear power in a safe and orderly manner, and strengthening the construction of
energy projects for people's livelihood.

As the focus of new energy development in the "14th Five-Year Plan", the construction of domestic wind and solar bases is accelerating

According to data from the National Energy Administration, in 2022, the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases of 97.
05 million kilowatts has all started construction, and the second and third batch of base projects have been promoted one after another, and the annual installed capacity of wind power photovoltaic power generation is expected to exceed

By the end of December 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of wind and solar power generation in China was 640 million kilowatts
