National Grid is committed to supporting the roll-out of V2G technology

The alliance, which includes Western Power Distribution Company, Nissan and Elemental Energy, aims to facilitate V2G technology deployment
by sharing increased revenue with EV drivers, owners of smart chargers, managers of charging stations, and battery storage operators.

V2G technology means that electric vehicles can store electricity into the network
    during peak demand.
The alliance says 10 new Nissan LEAF models can store the energy
consumed by 1,000 households in an hour.

The coalition says utilising V2G technology can help balance supply and demand, and can earn around £60 per car per month
    .

The consortium plans to manage the input and output energy of EV batteries and aggregate them as virtual power plants, using machine learning to describe driver behavior patterns
    .

Chris Wright, chief technology officer at Moixa, said: "Drivers are happy to receive additional benefits
    while using their cars normally.
