On January 9, the 2022 annual summary and evaluation meeting of the national potato industry technology system was held
in Haikou City, Hainan Province.
Jin Liping, chief scientist of the national potato industry technology system, said that the potato industry technology system implements General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions and requirements of "realizing self-reliance and self-improvement in seed science and technology, and independent and controllable seed sources", based on the characteristics of the industry, comprehensively promotes the revitalization of the potato seed industry and the green development of the industry, empowers the revitalization of rural industries with science and technology, and has achieved remarkable
results in leading scientific and technological innovation, promoting green development, serving industry development, and supporting government decision-making.

At the meeting, the chief scientist, post scientist and station manager of the comprehensive experimental station reported and evaluated
from the aspects of key industrial technology research, serving county economic development, emergency service and consultation, and industrial data platform construction.

The national potato industry technology system was established in 2008, with 1 chief scientist, 31 post scientists and 34 station managers of comprehensive experimental stations, distributed in 24 provinces, regions and municipalities
across the country.
After 14 years of construction and development, a number of backbone teams of industrial technology research and development have been trained, a number of high-yield, efficient and excellent varieties have been cultivated, and a number of integrated innovative technologies have been demonstrated and promoted, helping the former national poverty-stricken areas to get rid of poverty, and supporting the high-quality development of the potato industry and the national rural revitalization strategy

Jin Liping said that in 2022, the national potato industry technology system introduced, collected and evaluated germplasm resources 442 times, registered 27 new varieties, developed 54 new technologies, formulated 22 new regulations, and won 9 provincial and ministerial awards, providing scientific and technological support
for the self-reliance and green development of the potato seed industry 。 53 regional suitable varieties were screened out across the country and 9.
