    Recently, the research team of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has developed a new method of synthesizing copolyester monomers from biomass of acetaldehyde and acrylate


    With the rapid development of modern society, all walks of life have higher and higher demands for copolyesters with adjustable properties


    At present, PCTA monomer is mainly obtained from the preparation of downstream petroleum products


    Based on the biomass synthesis route, the cooperative team developed a new method to synthesize the copolyester PCTA monomer using biomass-based platform compounds acrylate and acetaldehyde as raw materials


    In addition, the team also used the life cycle assessment method to compare the biomass route under study with the traditional petroleum route, showing that the biomass route exhibits positive carbon emission reduction capabilities
