Figure 1 Structural parameter S that affects the performance of the CW-MFC sensor

In the face of many parameters that affect the sensing performance, this study starts from the structure of the sensor device, and integrates the parameters affecting the sensing performance, such as electrode position, electrode spacing and electrode size, and simplifies it into the structural parameter S , which is defined as the thickness of the anode conductive filler layer and the The ratio of the thickness of the non-conductive separator (also the ratio of anode volume to electrode spacing volume, which can also be understood as the ratio of anode volume to device volume ratio and electrode spacing volume to device volume ratio (Figure 1 ))

    Figure 2.

The study found that the three S -configuration biosensors can achieve good response to COD although there are differences in sensing performance such as fit, detection range, detection time and sensitivity .

This research innovatively proposes the structural parameter S that affects the performance of the CW-MFC biosensor , and proposes to use the stable voltage coulomb ( Q s ) as the sensing signal to optimize the sensing performance .

The research work was recently published online in Water Research under the title "In situ COD monitoring with use of a hybrid of constructed wetland-microbial fuel cell" ( https:// S0043135421011519 ) .
