The research group of "Plant Taxonomy and Evolution" of Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences carried out research on plant taxonomy, biogeography and evolutionary genomics, focusing on the characteristic components of East Asia such as Lamiaceae, Camellia and Poaceae

The results showed that, consistent with the previous evolutionary relationship between the groups based on the chloroplast genome data, the Amethyst family is the basal branch of the Camellia family, and the Datou tea family and the Camellia family constitute a sister group

The research results were published online in Annals of Botany , a professional journal in the field of botany under the title of "Phylotranscriptomics of Theaceae: generic-level relationships, reticulation and whole-genome duplication" .

The research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China ( 32070369, 31700182 ), the Open Research Project of Major Science and Technology Infrastructure of the Chinese Academy of Sciences ( 2017-LSFGBOWS-02 ), the member of the "Youth Innovation Promotion Association" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences ( 2021393 ) and the Western Light Talent Introduction Program, etc.
