team recently announced that they have identified a number of genetic variants associated with the risk of developing ADHD, commonly known as ADHD. This provides new insights into the biological mechanisms behind ADHD and helps to diagnose and treat the disease.
ADHD is a type of psychological disorder commonly seen in childhood, the main symptoms include inattmental concentration, movement, impulsive irritability and so on. Genetic factors often play an important role in this type of psychological disorder, the team said in a paper published in the new issue of the British journal Nature Genetics.
to this end, they compared the genomes of more than 20,000 people with ADHD and more than 35,000 people without ADHD, and found that 12 gene variants increased the risk of ADHD, carrying more genetic variants and a greater risk of developing ADHD.
data allow researchers to find different places in the genomes of ADHD patients than in healthy people, said
Demondis, an associate professor at Aohus University in Denmark and one of the lead authors of the study.
further study also found that these genetic variants not only increase the risk of ADHD, but also increase the risk of overweight and diseases such as type 2 diabetes.
researchers say the discovery of the associated risk genes provides an important basis for further research into ADHD, helping to better understand the pathogenesis of the disease and ultimately providing better treatments for patients. (Source: Guo Yang, Xinhua News Agency)
