No aura vs migraine with aura? Look at these two gold diagnostic standards!

★ Diagnostic criteria for migraine without aura:
A.
Headache that meets B-D criteria has at least 5 episodes
.

• Some migraines are difficult to distinguish from symptomatic migraines, and one and several episodes are sometimes difficult to diagnose, so at least 5 episodes
  are required.
  

B.
Headache attacks lasting 4-72 hours (untreated or poorly treated).

• If you fall asleep during the seizure and the headache disappears after waking up, the duration of the headache is estimated at the time of awakening;

• For children and adolescents (less than 18 years), the duration of the attack is 2-72 hours (untreated children with a duration of less than 2 hours is not enough to diagnose migraine).
  
  

C.
At least 2 of the following 4 items are met:

• unilateral;

• Pulsatile;

• Moderate to severe headache;

• Daily physical activity aggravates headaches or avoids daily activities (such as walking or climbing stairs)
  because of headaches.
  

D.
During the seizure, at least 1 of the following 2 items is met:

• nausea and/or vomiting;

• Photophobia and phobia
  .
  

E.
Cannot be better explained
by other diagnoses in ICHD-3.

★ Diagnostic criteria for migraine with aura:
A.
At least 2 episodes consistent with B and C
.

B.
At least 1 fully recoverable aura symptom:

• Vision;

• Feel;

• speech and/or language;

• Motion;

• Brain stem;

• Retina.
  
  

C.
At least 3 of the following 6 items are met:
1.
At least 1 aura lasts more than 5 minutes
.

2.
2 or more symptoms occur
consecutively.

3.
Each individual aura symptom lasts 5-60 minutes
.

• For example, when 3 symptoms appear together in an aura, the maximum acceptable aura duration is 3*60 minutes
  .
  Motor symptoms can last up to 72 hours
  .
  

4.
At least one aura is unilateral.

• Aphasia is considered a unilateral symptom, and dysarthria can be unilateral or bilateral
  .

At least one aura is positive.

• Flash and tingling are positive aura symptoms

Headache
