On 7 January, there were 53 new confirmed cases and 37 local cases

January 7th, 0-24 hours, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 53 new confirmed cases, of which 16 cases were imported from abroad (Shanghai 8 cases, Guangdong 3 cases, Liaoning 1 case, Jiangsu 1 case, Fujian 1 case, Henan 1 case, Hunan 1 case), 37 local cases (Hebei 33 cases, Liaoning 2 cases, Beijing 1 case, Heilongjiang 1 case);
17 new cases were cured and discharged from hospital on the same day, and 1094 close contacts were released from medical observation, with the number of serious cases the same as the previous day.
282 confirmed cases (of which 4 are severe cases) have been imported from abroad, with no existing suspected cases. A total of 4375 confirmed cases, a total of 4093 cases of cured discharge, no deaths.
As of 2400 hours on January 7, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported that there were 521 confirmed cases (of which 13 were serious cases), 82,176 cases had been cured and discharged from hospital, 4634 cumulative deaths had been reported, and 87,331 confirmed cases had been reported, with no existing suspected cases. A total of 920,733 close contacts were traced and 23,974 close contacts were still under medical observation.
31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 57 new cases of asymptomatic infection (18 cases imported from abroad);
received a total of 9975 confirmed cases from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Of these,
9107 cases (8258 discharges, 154 deaths), 46 cases (46 discharges) and 822 cases (708 discharges and 7 deaths) in
regions of the Special Administrative Region.
