On 9 December, there were 12 new confirmed cases and 1 local case

From 0-24 hours on December 9th, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 12 new confirmed cases, of which 11 were imported from abroad (9 in Shanghai, 1 in Fujian, 1 case in Guangdong), 1 case in China (in Inner Mongolia);
11 new cases were cured and discharged from hospital on the same day, 382 close contacts were released from medical observation, and the number of severe cases was the same as the previous day.
242 confirmed cases (of which 3 are serious cases) and 3 suspected cases have been imported from outside China. A total of 3980 confirmed cases, a total of 3738 cases cured out of hospital, no deaths.
As of 2400 hours on December 9, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported that there were 285 confirmed cases (of which 5 were serious cases), a total of 81,754 cases were cured and discharged from hospital, 4,634 cumulative deaths were reported, 86,673 confirmed cases were reported, and 3 suspected cases were reported. A total of 885,409 close contacts were traced and 6,659 close contacts were still under medical observation.
31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 5 new cases of asymptomatic infection (all imported from abroad);
received a total of 7945 confirmed cases from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Of these,
7,179 cases (5,783 discharges and 114 deaths) were discharged from the special administrative region, 46 cases (46 cases discharged from hospital) and 720 cases (585 discharges and 7 deaths) in the
regions.
