On the 17th, 22 new confirmed cases were imported from abroad

From 00:24 on August 17th, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 22 new confirmed cases, all of which were imported from abroad (14 cases in Shanghai, 3 cases in Jiangsu, 2 cases in Tianjin, 2 cases in Shaanxi and 1 case in Guangdong);
39 new cases were cured and discharged from hospital on the same day, 1464 close contacts were removed from medical observation, and 3 cases of severe illness were reduced from the previous day.
213 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 3 suspected cases have been imported from abroad. A total of 2322 confirmed cases, a total of 2109 cases of cured discharge, no deaths.
As of 2400 hours on August 17, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported that there were 595 confirmed cases (of which 27 were serious cases), 79,642 cases had been cured and discharged from hospital, 4634 cumulative deaths had been reported, 84,871 confirmed cases had been reported and 3 suspected cases had been reported. A total of 807,383 close contacts were traced, and 18,473 close contacts were still under medical observation.
31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 17 new cases of asymptomatic infection (16 cases imported from abroad);
received a total of 5055 confirmed cases from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Of these,
4524 cases (3,599 discharges, 69 deaths), 46 cases (46 discharges) in the Macao Special Administrative Region, and 485 cases in
regions (450 discharges and 7 deaths).
