According to the US Food Safety News Network, recently, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are investigating the multi-state outbreak of E.
coli O121:H19 infection, and said that this is related to
the frozen salad sandwich sold in ALDI stores.

It is understood that the outbreak has caused 20 people in 6 states (Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin) to become ill, 5 have been hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported
    .
The most recent onset was on
    13 September.

Based on epidemiological information provided by the CDC and interviews conducted by state and local public health officials, 15 of the 18 respondents reported having shopped
    at ALDI stores.
Of the 15 people who reported shopping at ALDI stores, 6 of them ate Earth Grown-brand frozen salad sandwiches
purchased from ALDI a week before they fell ill, according to the FDA.

Cuisine Innovations, the maker of salad sandwiches, has begun recalling some of its products and discontinuing production
    .
The recalled products are vegan traditional salad sandwiches and garlic vanilla salad sandwiches exclusively distributed by ALDI
    .
While complete distribution information is unclear, the affected products are known to have been sent to 36 states and Washington, D.
    C
    .

At present, the FDA has not reported how the product was contaminated
    .
The number of patients is expected to increase
due to the time it takes to test, diagnose, confirm the test, and notify state and federal officials.
