    Macrolide (MAL) is a large and important group of antibiotics

    In 1957, Woodward first used the name "macrolide" to describe this type of compound

    Lincosamide, also known as lincomycin, was first reported by the United States in 1962.
    It is a potent, narrow-spectrum anti-gram-positive antibiotic produced by Streptomyces
    .


    After more than 20 years of research and development, it has developed into a lincomycin family dominated by lincomycin and clindamycin .
