called oxide. With the exception of some rare gases, oxides of all elements have actually been produced. Depending on the criteria, there are several categories of oxides. (
1) by
acid-base
sex, generally divided acidic oxides (e.g. sulfur trioxide), alkaline oxides (e.g. sodium oxide), biso-oxides (e.g. alumina) and unsalted oxides (e.g. nitric oxide).
