    Philippine government calls on exporters to adapt to China's new registration rules for imported food

    According to a report by the Philippine Business Mirror on January 5, Abejuela, the Agricultural Counselor of the Philippine Embassy in China, said that the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued the registration management regulations for overseas imported food manufacturers in 2021.
    Effective today, Philippine food exporters are advised to comply with the new requirements to ensure smooth trade .
    Food and Drug Administration official Martirez said exporters or companies that do not comply will not be registered with the GACC and will not be able to export food to China .
    Undersecretary for Trade and Industry Macatoman stressed the importance of the GACC Act .
    He said Decree 248 will affect nearly 8% of Philippine exports to China and 624 Philippine exporters, while Decree 249 will affect about 0.
    46% of Philippine exports to China and 160 Philippine exporters .
