PPG increases investment in coating coloring systems

 PPG has announced in Pittsburgh, USA, that it will further increase its investment in automated color palette systems for automotive parts and decorative accessories (APAD) paints and related coatings products.
following investments in the APAD business in Germany and Russia, PPG recently launched the APAD Automated Color Roming System at its coatings manufacturing plant in San Juan del Rio, Mexico. In addition, PPG will start operation of another tonment system in Skribrubud, India, in 2019,

. Previously, automated tonment systems have been officially launched at PPG's APAD coatings manufacturing facilities in Bayadolid, Spain, Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA, and Tianjin, China.
automatic color technology significantly improves PPG's productivity and coating batch approval speed to better serve automotive OEMs and parts suppliers. With this technology, various coating components can be automatically extracted from storage tanks according to the correct ratio and can be mixed directly in transport containers, greatly simplifying the coating production process and increasing productivity. The technology also helps to significantly reduce product variability, improve the consistency of different paint and coating product batches in terms of color, appearance and construction performance, and significantly reduce lead times.
