The SIGMASHIELD® 1200 coating developed by PPG Industries for use on decks and hulls can improve abrasion resistance and impact resistance.
The combination of top phenolic epoxy resin and carefully selected pigments can provide unique in cold waters.
General performance.
The priorities of SIGMASHIELD1200 coatings include:
Outstanding impact resistance and abrasion resistance in ice; excellent cathodic protection and creep resistance, standard and low temperature coatings help to enhance curing and application in winter applications.
A single paint can be used with quasi-guaranteed equipment, which is convenient for maintenance and repair.
The coating has been certified as an ice-grade wear-resistant coating by Lloyd's Register of Shipping (Location Contact).
Aker has been certified as a low-friction surface coating.
SIGMASHIELD1200 coating is suitable for trading ships in the Baltic Sea with heavy ice and the Great Lakes and sea lanes of the United States/Canada all over the world.
Its good low coefficient of friction in ice has been certified by Aker Arctic Technology Center.
Ships providing energy project services in the Russian Arctic can also use SIGMASHIELD coatings.
