PPG's American Springdale plant wood paint R&D laboratory officially opened

The laboratory has a technical team composed of chemists, technicians and color designers, and is equipped with the latest application, mixing, testing and analysis equipment

Kevin Braun , vice president of the Americas of PPG Industrial Coatings Division, said that the new laboratory will further enhance PPG 's innovative strength and expand the application of advanced coating technology from wood to more building substrates (such as rubber, vinyl and luxury vinyl).

“The research and development power of wood paint and interior construction products mainly comes from three aspects,” Braun explained.

One of the key research areas of the new laboratory will still be PPG 's environmentally friendly wood coating technology, which includes ultraviolet (UV) curing coatings that hardly emit volatile organic compounds ( VOC ) when used , water-based and solvent-based coatings, and electron beams ( EB ) Special products such as cured coatings and ink resin coatings for resilient floors .
