    (2) Urea oxidation method

    The urea oxidation method, also known as the Shestakov method, is currently the main method used in China


    The process flow is shown in Figure 12-2

    Wu Dekun and others introduced chlorine gas in the dilute alkali, and then continuously added 42% sodium hydroxide and chlorine gas, which reacted to form sodium hypochlorite and sodium chloride, and separated and removed the mother liquor after sodium chloride centrifugation, which was 25%-27% sodium hypochlorite.
