In recent years, the consumption demand of organic products has obviously increased, but there are still some problems to be solved in the production (planting and breeding), processing, sales and certification of organic products in China. Recently, the General Administration of Market Supervision released the "China Organic Product Certification and Organic Industry Development Report" and the "China Organic Product Certification Market Survey Report" at the launch ceremony of the 2020 National Organic Product Certification Promotion Week.
By the end of 2019, the area under organic crop cultivation produced in accordance with China's organic products standards was 2.202 million hectares, and the total production of organic plants was 12.451 million tons, with a total of 68 certification bodies issuing organic product certification certificates. In 2019, China's total sales of organic products reached 80,98 million tons, an increase of 110.4 million tons over the previous year;
experts say organic production is more than simply not using synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, as opposed to conventional agricultural production processes. It is also a production system that combines flexibility and strict management, starting with good nutrition cycle, productivity and farming management, including integrated, pest management methods for prevention, soil fertilization measures, and eventually becoming organic through organic certification.
"China has issued a number of policy documents to accelerate the construction of ecological civilization, which are highly in line with the basic concept of organic agriculture." Fu Zetian, vice president of China Agricultural University, said local governments at all levels have also formulated organic agricultural development plans and introduced incentives to encourage producers to transform organic agriculture.
, China's organic industry is moving towards the stage of gradual standardization and rapid development, but there is still a gap. The structure of organic products in China is not reasonable, the number of certificates issued is still dominated by primary agricultural products, the number of certificates issued accounted for 69.8%, and the number of certificates issued for organic processing products is relatively small, accounting for only 22.4%. The shortage of organic processed products indicates that the organic industrial chain is short, and many are not deeply processed, which makes them in the market can only be sold at more expensive primary agricultural products prices, sales and economic benefits are difficult to be effectively promoted, thus limiting the development of organic industry.
To this end, Fu Zetian suggested that China's organic products production area only accounted for 4% of the world, compared with developed countries, there is still some room for improvement;
Tang Jun, deputy director of the general administration of market supervision, said that the next step, the market regulatory authorities will continue to improve the organic product certification system, improve the whole process of organic product certification traceability mechanism, weaving secret certification risk prevention and control network;
