    to carry out research on the regulation of nutrient metabolism in Bama Xiang pig and establish an integrated nutrition regulation strategy for mother and child.

    Recently, Kong Xiangfeng's research team from the Research Center for Healthy Livestock and Poultry Breeding and Agro-Animal Husbandry Ecology of the Institute of Subtropical Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences systematically studied the feeding effect of probiotics and synbiotics on Bama Xiang pigs during gestational-lactation feeding, and explored its mechanism
    of action from the aspects of nutrient metabolism, intestinal microecology and gene expression 。 The study found that the addition of probiotics and synbiotics to gestational-lactation diets could improve the balance and metabolic activity of intestinal flora in sows, enhance body health and improve their reproductive performance.
    It can improve the intestinal flora composition of nursing piglets, promote the utilization of glycolipids and proteins in nursing piglets, reduce the level of oxidative stress and inflammation, and enhance the immune function of the body, thereby promoting the growth and development of nursing piglets; It can regulate the structure of intestinal microflora in weaned piglets, improve intestinal barrier function, antioxidant function and mitochondrial function, and enhance intestinal mucosal immunity.
    It can improve the flesh color, water retention, tenderness and IMF content of offspring muscles during the growth and fattening period, change the composition of muscle amino acids and medium and long-chain fatty acids, enhance the body's protein synthesis, regulate lipid and glucose metabolism, improve muscle fiber type composition and muscle fat deposition, change the metabolic function of intestinal flora, and then improve the growth performance and meat quality
    of offspring.
    The addition of probiotics to gestational-lactation diets can increase the daily food intake of offspring during the growth and fattening period, reduce the rate of diarrhea, increase the abundance of beneficial bacteria in the colon, and inhibit the proliferation
    of harmful bacteria.
    In addition, the addition of antibiotics to gestational-lactation diets had a negative impact on the growth performance, intestinal health, body fat metabolism and meat quality of offspring, and increased the abundance of harmful bacteria such as intestinal Treponema and Streptococcus

    This study focuses on the effects of intervention on the intestinal microecology of sows on offspring growth and nutrient metabolism, and provides a theoretical basis and technical support for improving the quality of offspring meat by using the nutrient regulation strategy of "mother-litter integration".
    Taking Bama Xiang pig as the experimental subject, the feeding effect of probiotics/synbiotics added to feed on Bama Xiang pig at various growth stages was systematically studied, and its mechanism of action was discussed from multiple aspects, which had important guiding significance
    for the use of microbial preparations in the healthy breeding of local pigs.
