    The Three Gorges Project exerts a huge comprehensive effect in power generation, flood control, shipping and water resources protection.


    The “Three Gorges” research team of the Chengdu Institute of Mountainous Land has focused on the thin soil layer of the slope farmland in the reservoir area, lack of agricultural infrastructure, low land yield and labor productivity, strong soil erosion, serious agricultural non-point source pollution, and inability to resist natural disasters such as drought and floods.


    At present, the "Three Gorges" research team has established a physical model and demonstration area for sloping farmland soil and water conservation, agricultural non-point source pollution reduction, and vegetation interception and soil soil consolidation in the Three Gorges Reservoir hydro-fluid zone in Shibao Town, Zhong County, the middle reaches of the Three Gorges Reservoir area.
