Original title: Protein powder will make people depressed short life
many iron exercise people, will take protein powder to achieve the "long muscle" purpose. But people see only its effect on fitness and pay little attention to its potential negative side effects. Excessive intake of protein powder not only affects mood, but may also shorten life expectancy, according to a recent Australian study.
the team at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Sydney in Australia analyzed the complex effects of the main branched chain amino acids (BCAA) in protein powder on metabolic health, reproduction, appetite and aging through mouse experiments. The results showed that when the concentration of branched chain amino acids in the blood was too high, the amino acids competed with tryptophan in the brain. Tryptophan is the only preludes to serotonin, often referred to as "happiness chemicals", that improve mood and promote sleep. When serotonin levels decreased in the mice's brains, the brains sent out powerful appetite-enhancing signals, causing them to overeat, leading to obesity and shorter life expectancy.
Based on the findings, the researchers advise fitness glutamates to eat as many proteins as possible, such as red meat, dairy products, chicken, fish, eggs, beans and nuts, to obtain essential amino acids and maintain their balance.
