Prysmann Group, a leading global cable manufacturer, recently announced that it will supply Brazil with 770 km of submarine cables for the construction of
    the region's fiber optic backbone.

Specifically, Prysmann will supply a 770-kilometer submarine cable system
for Brazilian operator Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP) and its Norte Conectado project.

The Norte Conectado project aims to expand and improve the communication infrastructure, network security and connectivity resilience
in northern Brazil by connecting the Macapa to the fiber optic network system of Santarem and Alenquer in the northern Amazon region across the Amazon River.
The project was implemented in a sensitive area that required strict environmental requirements, and Prysmian Group will once again demonstrate its ability to meet customer needs by installing cables in the riverbed to
    provide a non-intrusive solution.

According to Prysmian, the company will manufacture and supply its high-fiber-count MINISUB repeatless submarine cable for the project and deploy it in
    four separate paths.

"We are proud to contribute to this worthy project and support sustainability
by improving data connectivity for local communities and public institutions.
Operating in Brazil for over 90 years, Prysmian is in a unique position to serve
    customers directly.
Ashutosh Bhargava, Director of Prysmian Group's Subsea Telecommunications Division, said
    .

Through this strategic project, Prysmian Group directly connects 59 cities in northern Brazil with the possibility of expanding it to other Amazon countries
    .

It is reported that the required cables will be produced by Prysmian's production plant in Nordenham, Germany, and delivered
in the second half of this year.
