Q1: Global energy efficiency, smart network and battery companies received US$210 million in venture capital

According to a new report released by Mercom Capital, battery storage, smart grid and energy efficiency companies received $210 million in venture capital in the first quarter of 2019, down 55.

In the first quarter, battery storage companies received a cumulative $130 million in nine deals, including venture capital, debt and public market financing, of which venture capital reached $78 million, the highest recipient of venture capital was Zenobe, which raised $32 million from Jera and TEPCO, followed by Sunfire, from Paul Wurth, Inven Capital, Idinvest Partners, and Total Energy Ventures and Sunfire Entrepreneurs Club received $29 million; Ambri raised $17 million

In the first quarter, smart grid companies raised $32 million (all venture capital) in 16 deals, down 97.
