    Recently, researchers from the biosensing technology team of Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences have developed a self-powered sensor based on glucose/oxygen fuel cell, which has the advantages of simplicity, low cost and no additional power supply, and is expected to be widely used
    in environmental detection, food safety, biomedicine and other fields.

    Biofuel cells use enzymes or electricity-producing microorganisms as biocatalysts to directly convert the chemical energy in biomass fuels into electrical energy through electrochemical pathways, thereby providing clean energy

    Previously, the biosensing technology team has developed a series of high-performance biofuel cells
    based on microbial surface display enzymes.
    The test results show that the self-powered sensor has been funded
    by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Postdoctoral Foundation and other projects.
