In April 2016, Banyan Village, which was originally located in a contiguous poverty-stricken area of Liupan Mountain, with an average altitude of 2,800 meters, was relocated
in April 2016 under the impetus of Qinghai Province's targeted poverty alleviation work.
After the new village built new houses, paved new roads, and connected water and electricity, 129 villagers in the village moved from the century-old village to the modern new village

In 2017, under the government's matchmaking, Qinghai Zhenfa New Energy Company fully invested in the construction of photovoltaic poverty alleviation projects in Banyan Village, with a project capacity of 2 MW, mainly using distributed rooftops plus tracking photovoltaic modules for power generation, Zhenfa New Energy Company promised that after the project was completed and put into operation, it will distribute power generation income to 114 villagers in Banyan Village who voluntarily install photovoltaic panels on the roof every year, including 72 poor households, which will continue to benefit for 20 years, and each household can guarantee an annual income of about 2,500 yuan.
This benefit will greatly reduce the pressure
of local villagers who cannot make ends meet.

It is understood that the poverty alleviation project was officially connected to the grid on December 28, 2017, during which the State Grid Haidong Power Supply Company actively responded to the State Grid Corporation's sunshine poverty alleviation action, and provided all-round technical support in the process of building and connecting the photovoltaic power station in Banyan Village, opening a green channel, fully serving the clean energy grid-connected work, and ensuring the early connection of photovoltaic power plants to the
grid.
As of May 4, 2018, the photovoltaic power station has generated a total of 462,300 kWh

In order to ensure the smooth operation of the photovoltaic power station and ensure the stable income of the villagers, on May 16, 2018, under the leadership of the State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company, the power station was officially connected to the State Grid e-commerce photovoltaic cloud network 2.
