    CT angiography is the most commonly used imaging method to screen AIS and determine the location of embolization and collateral circulation


    Recently, a study published in the Journal of Radiology evaluated whether TE can be reliably displayed on TS-MIP of CT angiography, and explored whether the sign can be used to predict the thrombus composition and the source of stroke in AIS patients caused by LVO in the anterior circulation.


    Thrombectomy 

    A total of 148 patients were enrolled in this study, with an average age of 71 years and 94 men


    TE-positive thrombus contains a higher proportion of fibrin and platelets and fewer red blood cells than TE-negative thrombi.
