    Nanhu News (Correspondent Lu Shaoping) Recently, invited by the international academic journal Progress in Lipid Research, the rapeseed team of our school published a review entitled "The functions of phospholipases and their hydrolysis products in plant growth, development and stress responses"

    This review systematically introduces the protein structure of plant phospholipase family, the specificity of substrate, the conditions of enzymatic reaction and their mechanism of action, and discusses the role and significance of each phospholipase in plant growth, development and stress response


    The cell membrane is the starting site of biological perception of environmental stimuli, and phospholipids are the basic components of cell membranes, and their hydrolysis will produce various lipid molecules, such as free fatty acids (FFA), phosphatidic acid (PA), diacylglycerol (DAG), hemolysis Phospholipids and soluble head groups,
    etc.


    Numerous studies have shown that these lipid molecules play important roles in plant growth, development and stress response

    This review provides a comprehensive introduction to the research progress of the plant phospholipase family, which is divided into different subgroups according to PLA, PLC and PLD protein sequences, conserved domains, mechanisms of action, substrate specificity and enzymatic reaction requirements and their physiological functions family
    .


    Arabidopsis PLA is divided into three subfamilies: pPLA?, pPLA?? and pPLA???


    The review pointed out that although a large number of studies have shown that phospholipases are involved in the regulation of plant growth and development and stress response-related processes, there are still serious deficiencies in the analysis of its mechanism of action
    .


    Fully understanding the biochemical properties, spatiotemporal expression relationships and transformation relationships between lipid molecules of each phospholipase will facilitate in-depth analysis of the biological functions of plant phospholipases and promote the application of phospholipase genes in crop breeding
