The hydrogen peroxide test is used to detect inorganic and organic compounds containing peroxide or hydroperoxide groups

    [Detection principle]

Peroxidase transports oxygen from peroxide to an organic redox indicator, which is converted into a blue oxidation product

    [Operation method]

Sample processing: Weigh 15g sample with a balance and cut it into small pieces as much as possible, and put it into a disposable sample cup; add distilled water or purified water to 15mL in a graduated measuring cup, and leave it for more than 10 minutes; in the meantime, you can stir or shake with a straw to accelerate For extraction, the supernatant is the sample liquid.

    Steps:

① Take out a test paper and immediately re-close the test tube with the rest of the test paper.

② Immerse the test paper in solution 18, so that the reaction area is completely wetted

③Take out the test paper, shake off the excess liquid, and compare the reaction area with the color chart after 15 seconds

    [Result judgment]

    (1) Any blue color within 3 minutes can be judged as a positive reaction

    (2) If it appears dark blue to brown or green to brown, it means that the peroxide concentration is too high and exceeds the range of the color chart

    [Precautions]

Inorganic peroxides can be measured on a pH 2~12 aqueous towel (pH 0~14 universal test paper without joints)

Unopened peroxide test strips should be stored in the refrigerator.
