Rare earths are a class of metal elements with similar chemical properties, such as
La, Ce(Pr), Nd,(Pm), Sm,(Eu), Gd,(Tb), Seventeen kinds of(Dy),(Ho),(Er),(Tm),(Yb),(La), and elements of radon (y),(Sc), which are very similar in nature. For this reason, some people call it the "Seventeen Sisters of Rare Earths".

rare earths was used in the
18th century, when it was thought that ore extracted from rare earth elements was scarce and only earth-like oxides could be obtained, so they were called "rare earths". In fact, rare earths are not "thin", they are widely found in the earth's crust, even than lead, zinc, tin, tungsten, tantalum and other metals dozens or even hundreds of times. Rare earths are also not "earths", they can be extracted into a single metal element.
