Alkali metal lithium, sodium and potassium borohydrides have high chemical activity and are commonly used as selective reducing agents for organic carbonyl compounds
1.
Sodium borohydride (potassium) is stable under normal temperature and pressure.
Sodium borohydride (potassium, lithium) is very particular about sampling, storage, reaction and post-processing
In most cases, lithium borohydride (sodium, potassium) is reacted with Lewis acid, so that the resulting borane can directly reduce the reaction substrate such as organic carbonyl compounds in the reaction solution
2.
(1) It is very important to judge whether the sodium borohydride (tantalum, potassium) added in batches is completely reacted by the slight change of the initial reaction temperature
(2) Hydrogen is generated when quenching agents such as dilute acid are added
(3) For reactions above 500 mL, mechanical stirring is recommended.
(4) Ensure the ventilation effect and avoid reaching the explosion limit
