Reasonable drug use focuses on monitoring 20 drugs

July 1, the State Health And Wellness Commission and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly issued the Notice on the Issue of the First Batch of National Key Monitoring and Rational Drug Use Drugs Catalog (Chemical and Biological Products). According to the Notice, 20 drugs, such as neural glycoside lipids, became the first batch of national key monitoring and rational drug use drugs, the clinical use of drugs included in the catalogue as a medical institution and its main person in charge of the assessment content, with medical institutions verification, evaluation and evaluation, performance appraisal combined.
 "Notice" stressed that all localities should formulate provincial and medical institutions directory, in the form of open government affairs, hospital affairs, official website publicity and other forms to the public, the provincial directory published in a timely manner to the National Health and Health Commission and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the record. Medical institutions should establish a management system for monitoring and rational drug use, strengthen the overall management of the clinical application of drugs in the catalogue, formulate drug guidelines or technical specifications for the drugs included in the catalogue, and clarify the conditions and principles for clinical application. Conduct prescription reviews and prescription reviews of all drugs included in the catalogue, and strengthen the publicity, feedback and utilization of prescription review results. For varieties with outstanding problems of unreasonable drug use, measures such as ranking notification, rectification within a time limit, and removal of the catalogue of drug supply of this institution shall be taken to ensure rational drug use.The Circular states that the administration of prescriptions for off-the-counter medicines should be strengthened. For chemical and biological products not included in the catalogue, the physician shall reasonably select the drug variety, the route of administration and the dosage of the drug and prescribe it in accordance with the adaptation certificate, the guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease and the corresponding prescription authority as stipulated in the drug specification. For Traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine class physicians shall, in accordance with the relevant norms and in accordance with the basic principle of dialectical treatment of Chinese medicine, prescribe Chinese medicine. Other categories of physicians, after not less than 1 year of systematic study of Chinese medicine expertise and assessment of qualified, can issue prescriptions for traditional Chinese medicine.
