    Micro-expression is a short-lived, tiny facial expression that usually appears when an individual tries to hide his true feelings.


    The goal of micro-expression detection is to locate the moment when the micro-expression occurs in the video .

    Inspired by flat face detection technology, Huang Changbing's research group at the Key Laboratory of Behavioral Science, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences tried to extend the corresponding technology to three-dimensional space-time facial micro-expression detection, and proposed a multi-scale convolutional neural network ( CNN): MESNet.


    In addition, the research also improved the previous evaluation method of micro-expression detection results, and redefines the indicators that are more suitable for detection based on micro-expression intervals.
