Recently, a joint team at home and abroad, such as researcher Zhang Qiyu of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, associate professor Qiao Qin of Yunnan University, Professor Lei Jiajun and Dr.
Xue Li of Shenyang Agricultural University, and Professor La Qiong of Tibet University, have discussed the origin of the wild resources of strawberry genus in the world.
Research on evolution and pan-genomics, and related research results were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States
    .

Strawberry is an important small berry of the Rosaceae family, known as the "Queen of Fruits", rich in a variety of nutrients
    .

The genus Fragaria contains about 25 species with diverse reproductive systems and natural ploidy variations (2X, 4X, 5X, 6X, 8X, 10X)

In order to further study the model system, the team used single-molecule sequencing technology to reassemble the chromosome levels of multiple diploid wild strawberries (Iinuma strawberry, Tohoku strawberry, split calyx strawberry, five-leaf strawberry, yellow-haired strawberry, and green strawberry) from scratch.

This article constructs the pan-genome and core genome of the genus Fragaria for the first time, reconstructs the phylogenetic relationships of important species, and predicts the time of origin and differentiation; through resequencing 128 germplasm resources of 10 key species, the analysis of each species of the genus Fragaria Genome-wide genetic polymorphism, genetic differentiation and dynamic history of population evolution, especially the influence of ice age and plateau uplift on strawberry species differentiation; the study found that the genetic differentiation between the red and white fruit ecotypes of Tibet strawberry is more significant; it has also tested possible differences Multiple single-base mutations and population internal fixation of MYB10 gene related to fruit color of strawberry species ; through population genetic and morphological analysis, the team discovered a new diploid species-Emei strawberry

    MYB10

This research provides new insights into the evolution and resource utilization of strawberry, including pan-genome estimation, phylogeny and genetic differentiation of the genus Fragaria, the evolutionary dynamics of important gene families, and large-scale genome resources for further research
