On November 15, the pig genome design and breeding innovation team of Shenzhen Institute of Agricultural Genomics, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences revealed the differential molecular regulation mechanism of meat production traits and skeletal muscle growth and development between Chinese local pigs and Western lean pigs, which is of great significance for pigs.

Pig is one of the pillar industries of China's agriculture

In this study, the comparative developmental genetics method was used to analyze the transcriptomes of skeletal muscles in 27 growth and development stages of Chinese fat-Tongcheng pigs and Western lean-Langbai pigs, and systematically analyzed the transcriptional regulation of pig skeletal muscle growth and development.
