International research says the new coronavirus may spread in Italy in the late summer of 2019International research says the new coronavirus may spread in Italy in the late summer of 2019

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, August 11th.
An international research team recently released a preprint paper saying that the researchers tested positive for the new coronavirus ribonucleic acid in a sample collected by a measles and other disease surveillance project in Italy in September 2019, which means that the new crown virus.
The virus may have spread in northern Italy in the late summer of 2019
    .

Researchers from the University of Milan, Italy and the Memorial University of Newfoundland and other institutions participated in this research.
The preprint paper was published on the American Social Science Research Network on the 6th, and it was marked as a "Lancet Cooperative Preprint Project
    .

" Preprinted papers are papers that have not been peer-reviewed and have not been officially published in academic journals, but have been made public for the purpose of sharing information in a timely manner

The paper said that because some patients with new crowns reported measles symptoms on their skin, the researchers selected samples stored in a laboratory that monitors measles and rubella in the Lombardy region of northern Italy to detect the presence of new crown virus ribonucleic acid, new crown virus antibodies and other molecular evidence
    .

They studied a total of 435 oropharyngeal swabs, urine and serum samples from 156 cases and found molecular evidence of new coronavirus infection in 13 cases
    .

The samples of 11 cases were collected from August 2019 to February 2020, and the samples of 2 cases were collected from March 2020 to March 2021

The paper said that among the cases with positive results of the new coronavirus ribonucleic acid test, the earliest samples were collected on September 12, 2019
    .

The researchers therefore speculate that the new coronavirus may have spread in Lombardy by the end of the summer of 2019

Italy first reported a confirmed case of the new crown on January 30, 2020, but many studies have shown that the new crown virus may have spread in Italy

In November 2020, researchers from the National Cancer Institute in Milan, Italy, published a paper in the country’s “Journal of Oncology” stating that the receptor binding domain (RBD) of the new coronavirus was present in blood samples collected in the first week of October 2019.
