, Sept. 13 (Xinhua Zhang Jiawei) The University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom recently released a study that said that in infant dental language, if the majority of people through eye contact, language responses and other ways to respond positively, will help children's language development.
In a paper published recently in the American journal Developmental Science, the team led by the university's academics said they analyzed videos of babies between the age of 11 and 12 months playing with the people who cared for them and observed their sounds, gestures and stares, as well as their responses. Later, the study's participants were asked to fill out questionnaires about their children's language development.
found that babies between the age of 11 and 12 months of age often try to make eye contact and make noises with the person who cares for them, when the response is important. The data show that the average vocabulary a child has at 19 months of age is about 100, and if the child starts dental learning around the age of 1, the older person can respond more positively through eye contact and language responses, these children will have about 30 more vocabulary.
Ed Donnellan, of the University of Sheffield, said babies were able to communicate before they learned to speak, and that if they were able to respond to their attempts to communicate in a timely manner, they could help them learn the language better.
