Russian Ural scientists have synthesized compounds that can prevent neuronal degeneration in patients with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and other serious brain diseases.

Irina Utebova, a professor at the Department of Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry at Ural Federal University, said that one of the main causes of brain diseases in the elderly is that with age, too much amyloid structure accumulates in the brain

Irina Utebova said that the main advantages of indoleazine and pyrrolazine series compounds are their ease of synthesis and low toxicity.

It is reported that experts from the Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Organic Synthesis of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Ural Federal University participated in this research.
