Russian news agency TASS reported that the Russian Energy Ministry is considering the possibility of continuing to support renewable energy generation after 2024, when the current plan has ensured a return
on the investment period.

Alexei Teksler, First Deputy Secretary of the Department of Energy, said the ministry had reached consensus on joint ongoing support and was currently discussing the scale and scope of
the assistance.
According to Teksler, the extension of the renewable energy support program will help local energy engineering businesses, including those
that begin exporting equipment to international markets.
Teksler also said that Russia expects to add more than 300 megawatts of renewable energy power plants
with a capacity of about 500 megawatts in 2018.
Teksler noted that of the 1,250 MW of renewable energy projects selected this year, 830 MW of wind capacity
is included.
