MOSCOW, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- The country's grain production in 2020 will be 133.03 million tons, up 9.8 percent year-on-year, and wheat will be 85.873 million tons, up 15.3 percent year-on-year, according to a report from the Russian Federal Statistical Office.
, Russia this year enjoyed the second-largest harvest of grain and wheat in history.
Russia's biggest harvest in 2017: total grain production reached 135.539 million tons and wheat reached 86.03 million tons.
Russian rye production increased 0.7 times (66.2%) year-on-year to 2.374 million tons in 2020, barley production increased 2.2% to 2.0936 million tons, corn production decreased 5.6% to 13.475 million tons, and oats fell 6.6% to 4.132 million tons.
total rice increased by 3.9% to 1.141 million tons, breaking records, while total buckwheat production increased by 13.7% to 893,000 tons; Sunflower production fell 13.7 per cent to 13.278 million tonnes, soybean production fell 1.8 per cent to 4.283 million tonnes and rapeseed production rose 24.9 per cent to 2.573 million tonnes, also breaking records.
