    Saudi Aramco and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) are currently considering the integration of an existing refinery in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia with a world-scale mixed-feed steam cracker and downstream olefin derivatives unit , as part of their planned petrochemicals project

    On October 18, SABIC said in a filing to the Saudi stock exchange that it was re-evaluating the size of the original project to “maximize its economic value while evaluating the best technology options and market risks

    The planned fully integrated petrochemicals plant, originally scheduled for completion in 2025, is expected to process 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produce about 9 million tonnes of petrochemicals per year
