Scatec Solar will acquire 117MW of PV projects in Argentina

Scatec Solar and Equinor have signed an agreement with Portuguese company Martifer Renewables to acquire Guanizuil IIA, a 117MW PV project in the province of San Juan, Argentina
.

THE INSTALLATION RECEIVED A POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT
IN NOVEMBER 2017 DURING THE RENOVAR AUCTION ORGANIZED BY CAMMESA, THE MANAGER OF THE ARGENTINE WHOLESALE ELECTRICITY MARKET.

When completed, the plant is expected to produce approximately 308,000 MWh of electricity
per year.
Construction is expected to begin later in 2018 and the plant will begin commercial operations
by the end of 2019.

Scatec Solar will form a 50/50 joint venture base with Equinor to build, own and operate a power plant
in San Juan.
The realization of capital expenditures totaling $95 million for the plant will be funded
by a 40% stake in Equinor and Scatec Solar (50% each) and a 60% loan from Equinor to build bridges.

The CEO of Scatec Solar said, "With this agreement, we are developing the solar market
in Argentina.
We see that we still have a lot of opportunities
in the country with excellent solar exposure and government support for renewable energy.
Following the successful launch of the Apodi project in Brazil last year, we are expanding our collaboration
with Equinor.
