On July 12, 2021, Peking University School of Life Sciences, Peking University-Tsinghua Life Sciences Joint Center Yi Chengqi team, Peking University School of Life Sciences Tao Wei team and Peking University First Hospital Zhang Qian team jointly published questions on Nature Communications For the paper " Tissue-specific 5-hydroxymethylcytosine landscape of the human genome ", a variety of human tissue 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) maps were drawn, revealing the characteristics of tissue-specific distribution of 5hmC, suggesting that it is related to Tissue-specific gene expression and its function are related

DNA methylation is the most important epigenetic modification in organisms.

In this paper, we used the bisulfite-based, single-base-resolution 5hmC detection technology hmC-CATCH developed by the Yichengqi research group in the early stage to draw a high-resolution, high-quality DNA hydroxymethyl group map.

tsDhMRs show tissue-specific distribution and affect the expression of tissue-specific functional genes

In general, this study comprehensively used multiple methods such as chemical biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics to systematically draw a 5hmC map of human tissues, which provides a wealth of map resources for future research on its biological functions
